Valtteri Bottas dominated the season opener after getting ahead of poleman and Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton on the run to the first corner at the start. Ferrari faltered, so Red Bull stepped into the breach – and on to the podium – in its first race with Honda.
We also had the first point awarded for fastest lap since 1959, and Haas led the charge of the midfield brigade.
